Softball

CVLL prides itself on the programs developed for all of our children, especially the girls who participate in our softball program. After T-Ball, we encourage the girls to play in the softball leagues where they can get the training that will enable them to participate in Girl's Sports at school and prepare them for future success. CVLL has been blessed with a very successful softball program and is recognized throughout District 27 as a premiere girl's program.

Farm League Softball

Our 6 to 8 year old girls who make up the Farm Softball League, experience softball in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Emphasis is on skill development: hitting a pitched ball; running bases; fielding techniques; making outs. The league is coach-pitch/tee and the girls learn how to handle the 11 inch softball. Teams do not keep score during Farm League games. Team numbers are kept small to give more individualized instruction and more opportunities to bat and play the defensive positions. The teams begin practices in mid-March and play about two games per week at the First Avenue Field. The season ends usually during the first week of June.

Minor League Softball

The 9 to 10 year old girls who make up the Minor Softball League, experience softball in a fun but more competitive atmosphere. The league is a combination of player-pitch and coach-pitch. An umpire keeps count of balls and strikes, but with no walks-Coach pitch after ball four. The players introduced to the fast pitch, both pitching technique and hitting skills. Base-running techniques taught with emphasis on stealing, and sliding. The teams begin practice in mid March and the season extends to the second week in June. The teams will travel and play other local leagues like Great Valley and Exton. All home games played at the First Avenue field.

Major League Softball

Major League Softball is made up of graduates from our Minor League Program who range in age from 11 to 12 years old. These girls have had several years of experience and many have had advanced instruction in pitching and are ready to exhibit their talents. The girls learn advanced base-running techniques, including stealing bases and sliding. The season begins in mid April and extends through mid June. The girls get their second taste of inter-league play by visiting other local leagues in Chester County. All home games are played at First Avenue or the VFW complex.

Junior/Senior League Softball

From ages 13 to 16, the girls who remain in Little League play at the Junior/Senior Level. These girls learn to adjust to the regulation 12" softball and see much improved pitching and hitting. The girls play other local Little League teams from the district. All home games are played at First Avenue or the VFW Complex. The season lasts into mid-June with tournament play extending into July.

Big League Softball

From ages 14 to 18, the girls with advanced skills play at the Big Softball Level. Many of the girls play for ASA teams and the local High Schools as well. The girls play other local Little League teams from the district. All home games are played at First Avenue or the VFW Complex.
