TFA GU17 Elite finishes 3rd at USYS National Championships!

TFA GU17 Elite, coached by Jay Kiley, ended their season on quite the high note! The team continued their fine form during the National Event, advancing out of their bracket to the semi-finals. The team finished 3rd in the country at the USYS National Championships in Frisco, TX.

They were defeated a second time by the FCKC Academy Blues Elite team from Missouri, who also knocked the team out in the Semi-Finals round of the Midwest Regional Championships in June. However, at that time, the TFA GU17 Elite team had already qualified for the National Championships by winning their division of the National League.

Executive Director of Coaching, Erik Schoening had this to say, “This team continues to set the bar high for the rest of the club. This team, coached by Jay Kiley, really is the quintessential example of what dedication and preparation can accomplish.”

Emily Sexton, Maddy Pittman, and Mickayla Kowalski were voted Best XI of the USYS National Championships and the Golden Glove was awarded to keeper Mickayla Kowalski!

TFA was one of 3 teams to represent Ohio South in the knockout round.
